The gradient below is the real one: the same 256 texels the scene gets, mixed in Oklab. Two rules hold for every palette, and they are checked while you drag.

Moods
Eight axes that mean the same thing on every scene. Two moods have to sit far enough apart to point at the difference from ten metres, and the table shows how far.
